Vielka’s philanthropic passion is not something she chose as much as it chose her.  Her son Elias is a miracle child.  The doctors never gave her a positive prognosis saying he would never make it.  But in spite of what the doctors said Elias persevered! He came out fighting…fighting for his life.  He has had multiple heart operations and many complications related to this issue. Elias today, is thriving and living every day to its fullest. Vielka has chosen The Texas Children’s Hospital as her charity of choice as this is where Elias goes for all of his surgeries and treatment.   “They have  always taken such good care of us here and it has been a place of miracles for us”, Vielka says. “We treasure everyday and knowing that TCH is here for us makes me sleep a little better every night.”
